Corruption is a twisting or warping of the essence of a place or thing so that it is warped out of harmony with its place in the world. A corrupted place or thing does not reflect its essence. The spread of corruption across the world during Witch Wars has been the subject of sharp scholarly study in an effort to understand, and perhaps reverse, its baleful effects.

Spiritcrafters, even those who do not recognise their abilities as spiricraft, may sense the wrongness of the twisted outward form of corruption and the suffering of the spirit within.
