The Iron Curse has ended. The ban on magic is eroding and new adepts are throwing off the shackles of prejudice. Nations are seeking out forgotten mines, reconsidering the usefulness of witchcraft, and eyeing their neighbours' borderlands. A balance of power a century old is shifting. Still, the scars of the Witch Wars have yet to heal, and the peoples of the land are slow to forget. Entire landscapes remain twisted by the corrupting fallout of magics unleashed a hundred years past. Baleful creatures stalk the wilderness between outposts of security and civilisation.
The legacies of fallen empires lie forgotten where the tide of civilisation has retreated. Secrets and treasures await the brave and foolish among the bones of lost cultures. Danger and death await adventurers, too. This is a time of legends yet to be told, of daring stories and tales of wonder.
