Swamplight

Swamplight is produced by burning a gas harvested in the Fens. It gives off a variety of colours depending on where and at what time of year it was harvested. Common colours are green-yellow, blue, and yellow-red. A bright yellow–burning gas found in a few places in the Fens is prized for its strong light, though the strong rotting smell it gives off limits it to open-air uses.

Swamplight gas is usually stored in a tight coil of copper or brass tubing with a valve at either end, to which may be attached a variety of light fixtures or additional tubing.
